We have compiled a Hackney Affordable Workspace List and a Workspace Provider List to help you find the next office for your business.

All providers listed have been assessed and approved using the below criteria:

  • Delivery of business support for tenants

  • Community engagement

  • Local employment

  • Local supply chain

In 2023, the Council delivered the Affordable Workspace Fund, and supported 10 local organisations with over £1 million to create new and improved workspaces in Hackney.

As part of the fund, these organisations have committed to providing workspace at below the market rate and in some cases, completely free space as part of their social value commitments.

The fund forms part of the Council’s commitment to supporting affordable workspace in Hackney, including to SMEs, social enterprises and the creative sector.

  • Artistic Spaces have a large range of spaces to suit all kinds of businesses, crafts and individuals. Find out more here.

  • Established in 1994, Bow Arts is an arts and education charity and a social enterprise, supporting the growth of sustainable local creative economies. Based across 16 London locations, get in touch to learn more about available affordable workspaces.

  • Cell Projects Space operates in Hackney and Tower Hamlets. Its founders are artists with international experience of exhibiting and curation, applying this to their studio model for artists, visual artists and artisans. Learn more here.

  • Drop-in is the UK’s first local work club providing on-demand co-working to local communities.

    There are no private offices or dedicated desks, instead, every member has access to the entire club. Everything is designed with convenience, productivity, and comfort in mind. Amenities range from monitors and wireless keyboards to phone booths and meeting rooms. Plus, there is a cafe serving their specialty coffee to both members and the public.
